Former Minister of Health in Nigeria, and Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) have been confirmed dead by his family members today.
Dr. Babajide Osotimehin who spoke on behalf of the family, confirmed that the former minister died on Sunday, 4th June.
He said the burial arrangements wil be made known later.
Osotimehin was born on 6th February 1949 and he has held various positions such as Director General of the National Agency for Control of Aids (NACA), a was also the provost of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.
He was appointed as Executive Director of UNFPA on 19th November 2010, and was re-elected after a successful 4year term on 21st August 2014.
